Persuasion

US President Dwight D Eisenhower said,

Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

What Eisenhower is talking about here is influence It is becoming increasingly important for successful leadership. In the past, authority and power were enough to get things done, but in today's interconnected and fast-paced world, leaders need to be able to influence and persuade others to achieve their goals.

A great example of this is a conductor leading an orchestra. The conductor does not have direct authority over the musicians, but they have the ability to influence and guide the performance through their knowledge of the music, their communication skills, and their ability to inspire the musicians to perform at their best. In the same way, a leader who can influence and inspire their team will be more successful than one who relies solely on their authority.
