I really don’t like the term management; it has so many bad connotations.

People are not a resource to be managed.

They are flesh and blood real human beings, sentient beings, created and precious.

Think of a great leader you had. Were you treated well?

Why not be like that to those in your care.

Honour every individual with respect and give due deference and dignity to all, regardless of their role. I had a business owner help me and my team unload a container on a Saturday once. I’ve never forgotten that simple act of service. Can others tell those stories about you?

If not, choose to pivot today; lead don’t manage.
